Returns
Last updated 5 September 2026
Every painting here is a one-off. Photographs are honest but a screen is not a room, so if you have a question about size, colour, surface or framing, ask before you buy: write to [email protected] and you will get a straight answer, and more photographs if they help.
If it arrives damaged
Paintings ship framed and insured. If yours arrives damaged, email [email protected] within 7 days of delivery with photographs of the painting and of the packing it came in, and keep the packing until the claim is settled. You will be refunded in full, including shipping. A painting is unique, so there is nothing to replace it with.
If it is not what you expected
You have 14 days from delivery to say so. Email [email protected] within that window and you will be told where to send the painting back.
- The painting must come back in the condition it left, in its original packing.
- Return shipping and insurance are arranged and paid for by you. Insure it for the price you paid; a painting that is damaged on the way back cannot be refunded in full.
- Once it arrives back undamaged you are refunded the price of the painting and the sales tax on it. The original shipping charge is not refunded.
Before it ships
Changed your mind quickly? Email [email protected]. If the painting has not yet been packed and collected, you get the whole amount back, shipping included.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back through Stripe to the card you paid with. Stripe releases them straight away; most banks show the money again within 5 to 10 business days.
Very occasionally a painting is bought in a gallery or in the studio at the same moment as someone buys it here. If that happens after your payment has gone through, your card is refunded in full automatically and the artist will write to you.
What is not covered
Commissions and paintings bought in person are arranged directly with the artist and are not covered by this page.
