Hobnail

Hobnail is an intimate still life built around a single dahlia, its peach and rose petals spilling over the lip of a vintage hobnail glass vase. The beaded glass catches and scatters the light, breaking the flower's stem into shards of color beneath the surface.

Beside it, a half-peeled orange and a scattering of fallen petals mark the passage of time. Against a soft, marbled backdrop of warm neutrals, the painting finds quiet drama in the ordinary: something bright, something opened, something already beginning to fade.
